London, Dec. 13 (ANI): Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson will reportedly spend the next week in New York, sparking speculation that he may hold fresh talks with Pep Guardiola as his potential successor at Old Trafford.
Fergie will fly to the States after Saturday's game against Sunderland, and may conduct business in the Big Apple relating to his role as the club's ambassador to the Americas.
Ferguson owns an apartment in the city, where his eldest son Mark lives with his young family, which makes him a neighbour of former Barcelona manager Guardiola, who is renting a property overlooking Central Park for a year, the Daily Mirror reports.
According to the report, the two men had already met up in New York in September, when it was reported they talked informally about the potential of an eventual handover of power at Old Trafford from Scot to Spaniard.
He has become close to Ferguson, who will visit New York just before Guardiola, who reportedly has the Arsenal job at the top of this Premier League list, is due to fly back to Spain for the Christmas period, the report said.
While United report no plans for any formal meeting between the pair next week, it is thought likely they will make space to talk, just as they did in September, in what Old Trafford officials called then a "chance meeting", the report added. (ANI)
