Islamabad, Nov. 20 (ANI): Despite severe resistance from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) - the main opposition party - the National Assembly has approved a bill validating actions taken by former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani between April 24 to June 19, 2012.

Law Minister Farooq Hameed Naik, who tabled the bill, said that Gilani had approved reinstatement of deposed judges during the same period. He said that it was necessary to validate the actions taken by Gilani as he had worked as the premier till June 19, reports The News.

PML-N members Zahid Hamid, Saira Afzal Tarar, Khurram Dastgir and Mehmood Bashir Wirk opposed the bill since Gilani was disqualified by the Supreme Court. (ANI)
