Pak tycoon calls Chief Justice's son a 'don' used to getting his way
Islamabad, Nov. 14 (ANI): Pakistani business tycoon Malik Riaz has reiterated that Arsalan Iftikhar, son of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, is a "don", who gets his way according to his whims.
"Arsalan will get the same justice that common people receive. Don't make him a VIP, he's a don," The Express Tribune quoted Riaz, as saying.
Riaz reaffirmed that he does not have faith in the one-man Suddle Commission, since Shoaib Suddle has family relations with Arsalan.
"I want to request the Supreme Court to treat everyone equally," he said.
"There's a deal going on as well for the extension in Suddle's job so no one can challenge his decisions," he added.
Riaz's counsel Zahid Bukhari told the media that he has submitted a written complain to the commission regarding its eligibility.
"We have maintained that the constitution of the commission was unlawful and we have challenged it too in the Supreme Court in form of a review, but the review is still pending," Bukhari said.
He said that all notices sent by the commission to his client were ignored as they do not believe that the commission can investigate independently.
"On October 5, the life of the commission ended and it died. The Supreme Court revived it on November 6, so all investigations that the commission carried out within this time period is unlawful," Bukhari said calling any commission a "temporary institution".(ANI)
