Gemma Gibbons tweets pics of royal toilet on Buckingham Palace visit

London, Oct 25 (ANI): An invite to Buckingham Palace is a rare chance to see how the Royalty lives, but for Olympic silver medallist Gemma Gibbons, it was an opportunity to see the monarchy's toilets.

The judo star was invited to a glittering reception for successful Paralympians and Olympians hosted by the Queen.

Her Majesty wanted to thank and congratulate the athletes for their brilliant display at the London Games.

But perhaps the Queen had not been expecting her toilet to be one of the highlights of the occasion.

Gibbons took a snap of the royal water closet and posted it on her Twitter to page to share with her 29,000 followers, the Daily Mail reported.

"Met the queen today, she has very posh toilets!" she tweeted followed by a #howtheroyalspee.

Gibbons said that she hoped she wouldn't be "banged up" for her cheeky snap given that guests were told not to use mobile phones in the palace.

"I was delighted to have received an invitation to the palace and even managed to exchange a few words with the Queen," she said.

"I couldn't believe what [the toilets] were like when I saw them. There was carpet in them for a start. I have never seen anything so posh. I just took one look at them and thought 'oh, what the hell' and took a picture.

"I tweeted it without thinking, really, and I really hope that I'm not in trouble. It was such a lovely event that I wouldn't want to end up in the Tower," she said.

Fortunately for Gibbons, Buckingham Palace officials were very much amused.

"We are just glad that our guests have a wonderful experience - wherever they might be in the palace," an aide said. (ANI)
