London, October 22 (ANI): Fabrice Muamba, who proposed to his girlfriend on Valentine's day just a month before his collapse, didn't waste a single moment once he got back on his feet and had a fairytale ending by finally marrying the love of his life.
The 24-year-old retired Bolton star tied the knot with Shauna Magumba, who helped nurse him back to health after his heart stopped for 78 minutes in an FA Cup tie.
The couple booked 19th Century Peckforton Castle in Cheshire for their wedding while Shauna was at his bedside following his collapse during the quarter-final game against Tottenham seven months ago.
The prospect of the lavish ceremony for pals and family helped spur on his remarkable recovery.
The guests during the ceremony were expected to include some of the medical team who saved his life, including cardiologist Dr Andrew Deaner.
According to insiders, it was an "emotional" ceremony in the castle where United star Rio Ferdinand and Sunderland defender Wes Brown also had their weddings.
"Since Fabrice almost died, he didn't want to waste one moment," the Daily Star quoted a friend as saying.
"It looked as if the wedding was going to be a little way off, but he decided he didn't want to wait," the friend added. (ANI)
