Lahore, Oct. 10 (ANI): A spokesman of former Pakistan premier and Senior Vice Chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Yousuf Raza Gilani, has strongly rejected news reports stating that Gilani has decided in principle to quit the PPP and join the PML-F due to "serious differences" with the Presidency.
The spokesman termed Gilani's commitment to the PPP and its ideologies as "unwavering" and the news reports as "baseless". He added that Gilani's contributions for the restoration of democracy and rights of the downtrodden under the banner of the PPP were well known, reports the Daily Times.
The spokesman quoted Gilani as saying that it was due to the PPP that he had the honour of serving as the Prime Minister of Pakistan for more than four years during which historic legislation and amendments were passed by Parliament that would have a lasting impact on the political process in the country, and would uphold the cause of the constitution, rule of law and the federation.
