Lashkar Gah (Afghanistan), Oct. 8 (Xinhua-ANI): A suicide bombing rocked Lashkar Gah, the provincial capital of southern Afghan province of Helmand on Monday afternoon, leaving casualties, a local police source said.
"The attack occurred at around 1:40 p.m. local time in Safyano area and there could be casualties but details will be released to media later after investigation," the source said.
Meantime, eyewitnesses told Xinhua reporter near the site that a man driving an explosive-laden minibus rammed the vehicle to the provincial intelligence agency office building in the area.
The government troops immediately cordoned off the area shortly after the explosion.
The blast caused a plume of grey smoke to rise above the scene. (Xinhua-ANI)
