Islamabad, Oct. 7 (ANI): Former Pakistan premier Yousuf Raza Gilani has said he decided to leave the Presidency when "things became intolerable for him", in an apparent reference to the arrest of his son Ali Musa Gilani by the army-led Anti-Narcotic Force (ANF) in the ephedrine quota case.
"Government seemed helpless over the arrest of my son," the Daily Times quoted Gilani, as saying. He added that his son was arrested while he was staying in the Presidency, and that there was no political prisoner during his stint as prime minister.
Reportedly, Gilani is also disappointed over the removal of bureaucrats he had appointed, by Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, and had also informed President Asif Ali Zardari about his reservations. (ANI)
