Kochi Sep 6 (IANS) India's first Startup Village, the only telecom incubator, Friday sealed a technological collaboration with Finland's hi-tech hub Aalto Centre for Entrepreneurship (ACE), giving a cutting edge to churn out billion-dollar start-ups from Indian campuses.
Sanjay Vijakumar, chairperson of governing board of Startup Village, inked the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Tapio Siik, head of ACE, in Helsinki.
A high-level delegation led by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) is currently visiting Finland.
A statement issued here by the Startup Village said that the tie-up marks a milestone in Indo-Finnish efforts to strengthen bilateral relations in technology.
ACE is known for incubating game-changing startups, while Kochi-based Startup Village, is the first incubator in the public-private partnership mode in the country.
"Finland is the powerhouse of product technology and is home to world leaders, especially in telecom, while India is emerging as the most fertile place for innovative ideas and a happening hub of start-ups. The collaboration is going to be a major initiative to harness the synergies on both the sides," said Vijayakumar.
This state-of-the-art village is equipped with full 4G network, telecom labs, innovation zones, legal and intellectual property services and video conference rooms.
