'Uncertain' Hamilton slams first contract offer from McLaren as s***

London, Sat, 01 Sep 2012 ANI

London, Sep 1(ANI): McLaren ace driver Lewis Hamilton has said he has not decided on his future yet, and branded the first contract offer made to him by his team as s***.

The 2008 world champ is back behind the wheel on Sunday when Formula One resumes at the Belgian Grand Prix in Spa after a month's break, and Hamilton admits that negotiations to remain with McLaren are stalling.

"There are lots of sticking points. You never just sign the first contract that's given to you because most of the time it's s***," The Sun quoted Hamilton, as saying.

Hamilton has been with the Woking-based team since he was 13 and now goes into the final half of the season with his career in limbo, with his current five-year deal worth 75 million pounds expiring at the end of December.

"Nothing's signed, nothing's decided. But there are discussions and my people are in action. There are still many factors to be taken into account," Hamilton said.

"I don't see myself anywhere at the moment. I really don't because it is difficult to picture what is going to happen in the future," he added.

"It is quite a difficult but interesting time in Formula One at the moment. If the rules were to stay the same for the next five years it would make the decision a lot easier. But you don't know what is going to happen because in 2014 the regulations change quite heavily. So you don't know what is going to be the place," he said.

Hamilton further said: "There are drivers who have made decisions, like Fernando Alonso when he came here in 2007, who make a really lucky move because that year the car was great, it was crap the year before when Kimi Raikkonen was driving."

"It is a gamble and I am not much of a gambler. I always lose money at the casino!" he added. (ANI)
