Washington, August 24 (ANI): President Barack Obama can capture the attention of voters more quickly than Mitt Romney, according to a study.
In the study, EyeTrackShop used webcams to track the visual patterns of likely voters when shown campaign pictures of Obama, Joe Biden, Romney and Paul Ryan.
Obama captured respondents' attention 50 percent more quickly than Romney. And Obama/Biden did that 40 percent more quickly than Romney/Ryan.
EyeTrackShop, which has offices in New York, China and Sweden, uses much of its findings to help companies better position their products and messages in a cluttered online world and ad space.
Jeff Bander, president of EyeTrackShop, said they are able to track both where respondents look and for how long, and there are two explanations for Obama and Biden's advantage in their studies.
"I think, obviously, Obama has more recognition than Romney," the Politico quoted Bander as saying.
"Normally, we look at things we like. I think with politics, we've found that there's a lot of emotion involved here. So when they're looking at two people, they're going to look at them like they look at their sports team. They're going to look at their teams first and longer."
"These guys are brands. Obama's a brand. Romney's a brand. They're products. So what we're trying to do is see how people look at the product," he explained. (ANI)
