Washington, Aug. 20 (ANI): American business mogul Donald Trump has said that President Barack Obama's high popularity among women shows that female voters 'don't get what's going on', politically.
Trump also said that women liked him because they don't know him and that ignorance prevented them from seeing things the way he does.
"Well, maybe they don't know him [Obama]. Maybe they don't get what's going on, the New York Daily News quoted Trump, as saying.
According to the report, Trump asserted that Obama is "somebody that will say some very nasty things. [He] is a person that is not the nice person that some people think. And his popularity rating, while high, I think if people knew the facts, the rating would actually be extremely low".
"I still think that this is not going to be a popularity contest," Trump said, adding: "It's going to be a contest based on jobs".
According to the report, Trump has been a longtime critic of the President and played a prominent role in the 'birther movement', which had put pressure on Obama to release his long-form birth certificate last year. (ANI)
