London, Aug 8 (ANI): A diehard Olympic fan, who had tickets for every day of the Games, has died after having a heart attack at the velodrome.

Conrad Readman from Colchester, Essex, went to watch his heroine Victoria Pendleton in her bid for gold when he fell ill, the Sun reported.

The 49-year-old was found in the toilets and was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Readman, a chartered accountant, had taken two weeks off from his job so that he could make it to the Games every day.

He posted a selection of photos from various events on his Facebook page.

On the day he died he wrote to his friends: "An epic day today judo boxing n ending with table tennis but in the middle its the velodrome for Queen Vic n hopefully Team GB gold in the pursuit - there will be tears :)"

When asked how he managed to secure the sought-after tickets to every day, he wrote: "Hard work searching."

"It has been a lot of hard work over the past year gettin lot from other european countries n makin friends with other people who were also looking," he added.

Readman had already seen a string of events including fencing, archery, judo, beach volleyball, and hockey, before he died last Friday.

He had also seen badminton, rowing, cycling, football, diving, basketball and the Opening Ceremony.

His mother Joan said: "He had been looking forward to the Olympics ever since it was announced. There was never a day he was not excited about it.

"He was coming home every night so excited and telling me about everything he had done. He loved watching a lot of sport and I am so very proud of him.

"He had never had a problem with his heart and had not been to a doctor in 15 years. He died doing something he loved so I am happy he was where he was, but I can't watch any of it now," she said.

The day before his death, Tottenham Hotspur season-ticket holder Readman spoke of his enjoyment of the Games on Twitter.

"Love the snap of Wills n Kate celebrating GB gold win - the joy the whole nation feels," he wrote. (ANI)
