Peshawar, Aug.3 (ANI): Family members of incarcerated Pakistani doctor, Shakil Afridi, have visited him in jail, after the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government lifted the ban barring them from meeting him.
A Pakistan court gave Dr. Afridi a 33-year sentence after he was found 'guilty' of helping the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), by running a pretentious vaccination campaign to track down and eliminate Al-Qaeda chief Osama Bin Laden in the garrison town of Abbottabad in Pakistan.
Dr. Afridi's first visitors in Peshawar jail, where he is serving his term, were his lawyer Sami Afridi and brother Jamil Afridi, reports The News.
The jail's Deputy Superintendent, Maqsud ur Rehman, said the provincial government has allowed Dr. Afridi to meet his family once a month. (ANI)
