London, July 30 (IANS) Rapper Snoop Dogg has been barred from entering Norway for two years after he tried to enter the country with a small amount of cannabis last month.

The 40-year-old, who recently released his first reggae album titled "Resurrection", was held at Kjevik airport while on his way to a music festival in the country, after customs officials found he was carrying eight grams of the drug.

According to contactmusic.com, his lawyer said the rapper has no immediate plans to appeal against the ban and that Snoop could "live with the decision".

The star has a long history of police intervention with his marijuana use, the most recent, prior to the Norway incident, came in January.
