Pietersen admits ODI, T20 career 'finished' after ECB rejects compromise formula

London, July 19(ANI): England batsman Kevin Pietersen has acknowledged that his international limited over career is over after his latest demands were rejected by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

Pietersen was not included in the provisional 30-man squad for England's defence of the World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka in September, and he now feels there is no chance of a return to 50-over and Twenty20 cricket.

"I sense this decision is final. I think it's a shame for cricket fans," The Sun quoted Pietersen's agent, Adam Wheatley, as saying.

Wheatley met England managing director Hugh Morris with proposals to help in Pietersen's return to the national squad.

They proposal included missing two Tests against New Zealand next year to play a full campaign in the lucrative Indian Premier League.

The International Cricket Council does allow other players to be included in the final 15-man T20 squad when it is confirmed in August.

Wheatley further said: "If there is a compromise, we'd be happy." (ANI)
