Big Bash League to have different look with players changing teams

Melbourne, July 7 (ANI): The teams for the Australian Big Bash League are expected to look different because many star players are likely to change their teams when the recruiting window opens next week.

Cricket Australia on Friday released the fixtures for the league's second season, which opens with the first of two Melbourne matches on December 7 at Etihad Stadium.

All players are free agents after the first season. Both the Melbourne Stars, based at the MCG, and the Melbourne Renegades (Etihad Stadium) will inevitably lose key players.

Brad Hodge, one of the world's most in-demand short-form batsmen, is pondering a move from the Renegades to the Stars, The Age reports.

The regular season will increase from 31 to 35 matches, with each team to play four home matches and four away fixtures, with two derbies each in Melbourne and Sydney.

Despite the extra round, the duration of the season stays the same, with the final to be played on January 19. (ANI)
