London, June 17 (ANI): Britain's first Muslim Olympic rower, Moe Sbihi, has tackled the issue of Ramadan that will fall during the games by providing meals for 1,800 people.
As Ramadan will be falling during the Olympics, Sbihi knew that failing to eat properly would badly affect his performance in the men's eight, so he considered postponing his fast, Daily Mail reports.
Moe would follow the example of Moroccan goalkeeper Badou Ezzaiki, who though a Muslimm, never fasted during his time at Real Mallorca in Spain's La Liga, and provide 60 meals for the poor for each day he missed his fast.
Moe is one of an estimated 3,000 Muslim athletes at the Games who will cope with Ramadan in a variety of ways. (ANI)
