Beijing, June 12 (IANS) China supports Myanmar's efforts to safeguard ethnic harmony, the foreign ministry said Tuesday.
The main towns in Myanmar's riot-hit Rakhine state have been brought under control. However, there were still concerns Monday in some villages, a day after the government declared a state of emergency in the state, Xinhua reported.
The Chinese embassy in Myanmar has issued a travel advisory asking Chinese nationals in Myanmar to remain careful in the riot-hit areas, the foreign ministry said.
It added that the embassy will provide necessary assistance to Chinese nationals. The Rakhine state has been hit by ethnic violence since Friday night.
