New Pak-India UN observer mission chief appointed

Islamabad, June 12 (ANI): United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has appointed Major General Young-Bum Choi of South Korea as Chief Military Observer and the head of the UN Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP), a UN spokesman has announced.

Major General Choi succeeds Major General Raul Gloodtdofsky Fernandez of Uruguay, who will complete his assignment on June 15, with the mission, which has been deployed to observe a ceasefire in Jammu and Kashmir since 1949. (ANI)
