Euros riding high on Spain

London, June 7 (IANS) Britain's top betting sites Ladbrokes and William Hill have tipped World Cup champions Spain to defend their Euro crown by giving them odds of 11/4.

Germany (3/1) and the Netherlands (13/2), who are in the 'group of death', remain second and third favourites.

Roy Hodgson's England (12/1) and Italy (14/1) have been given the worst odds amongst the top European nations, with a day to go before the beginning of the tournament in the Ukraine and Poland.

German striker Mario Gomez with odds of 8/1 has been tipped to win the Golden Boot award while Dutch striker Robin van Persie, who was the highest scorer in the English Premier League 2011/12 season comes in second with odds of 10/1.

Portuguese and Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo, who has been in sparkling form for his club has the third best chance to win the award with odds odds of 12/1.
