EU pledges $140 mn to Jordan

Amman, May 21 (IANS) The European Union will give 110 million euros (about $140 million) in financial assistance to Jordan in 2012.

 

Joanna Wronecka, head of an EU delegation to Jordan, said the EU allocated 30 million euros to support Jordan's political reforms, 40 million euros for economic reforms and another 40 million euros for other projects.

 

She added that global financial crisis and difficult economic conditions in Jordan may delay some infrastructure projects, Xinhua reported quoting Amman-based news portal Khaberni.
