New Delhi, Mar 31 (ANI): Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram on Saturday said that the Central Government was requesting four political parties to quickly make up their mind on the Telangana issue.

"There is a demand for decision on the issue. From my side, from government of India side, we are requesting the four political parties, which have not yet express their opinions, to quickly make up their mind and tell us their view on the Telangana issue," Chidambaram told media here.

Throughout the budget session of Parliament there were repeated disruptions over the Telangana issue.

The demand for a separate state of Telangana, which was merged into Andhra Pradesh state in 1956, is fifty years old.

The central government has postponed the decision to carve a new state, causing immense unrest in the region and has taken hundreds of innocent lives. (ANI)
