Speculation on Twitter about Egyptian police attacking Ultras after deadly Port Said violence

Port Said, Thu, 02 Feb 2012 ANI

Port Said (Egypt), Feb.2 (ANI): In the wake of Wednesday's clashes in Egypt's coastal city of Port Said, which led to the deaths of at least 73 people, there is now speculation on Twitter that Egyptian police may continue to target Ahly hooligans, also known as Ultras.

The Ultras were at the forefront in many pro-democracy battles, and Wednesday's violence in Port Said is not a "coincidence," one woman with a Cairo account tweeted.

Whether or not the Egyptian military was involved, "this will surely spur more retaliatory attacks," another Twitter user who identifies himself as "Egyptian by upbringing" wrote. (ANI)
