New Delhi, Jan 31 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain has expressed confidence about his party emerging as the single dominant political group in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.
"The Bharatiya Janata Party is fighting the Uttar Pradesh election to form the ruling government, because the Congress, Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party may be partners in the government, but they are fighting the Uttar Pradesh election separately. The people of Uttar Pradesh want for good governance, and it can only be delivered by the Bharatiya Janata Party," Hussain told media here.
The Uttar Pradesh polls are being viewed as an opportunity for major parties to re-establish their foothold in the country's fifth largest and most populous state.
Polls in Uttar Pradesh will be conducted between February 8 and March 3, and the counting will take place on March 6.
Uttar Pradesh will elect a new 403-member state assembly in March, and the poll results will broadly indicate trends for the 2014 general elections. (ANI)
