Islamabad, Jan 24 (ANI): Pakistan's former ambassador to the US, Husain Haqqani, has reportedly submitted a petition to the judicial commission, requesting not to give American-businessman Mansoor Ijaz another opportunity for recording his statement over the Memo Gate scandal.

In the petition, Haqqani stated that Ijaz wanted to record his statement before the commission, for which he sought several adjournments through his counsel Akram Sheikh, The Daily Times reports.

jaz has not attended any of the commission's proceedings without a lawful reason, he added.

Haqqani tried to stress his point by saying that all of Ijaz's demands, including security measures, and grant of visa without any condition had been accepted by Pakistan.

Besides, even the proceedings' dates had been fixed according to his convenience, the former Ambassador said.

He further insisted that Ijaz was playing with Pakistani sentiments, and wasting the commission's precious time. (ANI)
