Islamabad, Jan 14 (ANI): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan has claimed that two years of military operations from 2004 to 2006 gave birth to the Pakistani Taliban.
"It took two years of military operations from 2004 to 2006 and collateral damage that created the Pakistani Taliban," The Express Tribune quoted Khan, as saying.
Speaking about the war on terror, Imran said that it was important to win the hearts and minds of people of the tribal areas.
He said that there were a million armed men in FATA, and added that everyone carries a gun in the area.
Khan further said that the people of FATA have been warriors for thousands of years, but the military operations led many to join the militant group. (ANI)
