Pyongyang (North Korea), Jan 6(ANI): North Korea has reportedly proposed unconditional dialogue with South Korea as soon as possible.

According to Xinhua news agency, the North Korean government issued a statement on Wednesday proposing dialogue with South Korean authorities on the way to demolish misunderstanding and distrust as well as achieve peace and prosperity.

The statement called on all the Koreans at home and abroad, all governments, political parties and organizations in the world, international organizations and progressive people that loved justice, truth and peace to extend warm support and solidarity to them.

The report also said that the statement underscored that improving inter-Korean relations, promoting national reconciliation, opening a landmark phase of peace and reunification on the Korean Peninsula through dialogue and negotiations was the consistent stand of North Korea.

It expected South Korea to "positively respond to their sincere proposal and appeal for weathering the crisis on the peninsula and between the north and the south". (ANI)
