Ex-England opener Boycott to make a million pounds from seaside home

London, Dec. 31 (ANI): Former England batsman Geoffrey Boycott is to make over a million pound profit from a seaside home he bought with his former lover after a dispute over her will was settled.

Boycott bought the property in Sandbanks, the Dorset millionaire's playground, with his late partner Anne Wyatt.

Although the couple were separated, they had an amicable arrangement which saw Wyatt live in the home until her death last year aged 82.

Boycott wanted to sell the three-bedroom property following her death, but a late change to Wyatt's will caused the deal to hit a snag.

The exact details of the legal issue are not known, but according to The Telegraph, it is understood that it related to which of her relatives would benefit from the property..

An alteration had meant that a female relative was entitled to a share of the proceeds of the sale of the house, which has its own beach access and overlooks Poole Harbour.

Following the legal wrangle, it is believed the matter has been settled out of court and Boycott, 70, is now hoping to sell the property.

The property, bought for 450,000 pounds in 1997, is on the market for over three million pounds.

Wyatt's elderly brother William Senior had cared for his sister, who suffered from brain cancer, and was originally due to benefit from her will.

A friend of the Senior family said: "The Senior family hold Mr Boycott in the highest regard and always have done and we regard him as a friend of the family. Anne and her brother were incredibly close.

Before she died she told him she loved him and that she wanted him to benefit from her will, because of all he had done for her."

Estate agents Lloyds Property Group has been tasked with selling the property which has an asking price of no less than three million pounds.

Boycott, a Daily Telegraph columnist and lives in Jersey with his current wife Rachael Swinglehurst, is currently away in Australia where he is commentating on the Ashes cricket series. (ANI)
