New Delhi, Sep 27 (IANS) Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Sri Prakash Jaiswal visited the Mehrauli bomb blast site soon after the incident and left just as early, leaving the locals 'unhappy'.
"The minister just came and left after talking to the media. He did not care to talk to the families of the victims," said Laxman Das Khattar, whose brother B.R. Khattar was injured in the blast.
B.R. Khattar's shop was hit in the blast that killed a teenager and injured 17 people in south Delhi's crowded Mehrauli area.
Sanjay, another relative of the Khattars, told IANS that he had left just a few minutes before the blast occurred. "I heard the noise and rushed back. I saw a man whose legs literally got shredded," Sanjay said.
G.B. Patil, who lives in the area, was also unhappy. "It seems he (Jaiswal) made the visit for the media. He did not talk to the locals or inquire about what happened at all."
People shouted "Shame, Shame" as the minister left the blast site.
The bomb blast at Mehrauli came exactly a fortnight after five blasts in the capital killed 24 people and left over 100 injured.
