London , Wed, 01 Dec 2010 ANI

London, Dec 1(ANI): Spanish police have reportedly arrested at least seven Pakistanis suspected of links to those responsible for the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.

According to the Telegraph, anti-terrorist officers detained the suspects in raids in and around Barcelona on Tuesday.

The suspects were involved in falsifying documents, including passports, for organizations linked to Al-Qaeda in various countries, including the Pakistan-based militant organization Lashkar-e-Taiba that has been accused of plotting the Mumbai attacks, the report said.

The 26/11 attacks were more than 10 coordinated shooting and bombing attacks across Mumbai by terrorists from Pakistan.

The attacks, which drew widespread global condemnation, began on 26 November, 2008, and lasted until 29 November, killing at least 175 people and wounding at least 308.

Ajmal Kasab, the only attacker who was captured alive, has disclosed that the attackers were members of Lashkar-e-Taiba, considered a terrorist organization by India, Pakistan, the United States, the United Kingdom, and the United Nations, among others. (ANI)
