London, Sept.8 (ANI): WBA heavyweight champion David Haye has shocked fans by claiming his showdown with fellow Brit Audley Harrison would be "as one-sided as a gang rape".ccording to The Sun, Haye launched the astonishing rant at a press conference to announce November's title fight.
It shocked even hardened observers used to publicity-hungry fighters making over-the-top outbursts.
Viv Hayes, boss of the Women's Resource Centre, said: "I'm horrified that anybody could say something which trivialises such an extremely serious crime. We know only too well the effects of rape and gang rape on women and their families."
She added: "I really would like David Haye to find out some actual information about rape and then perhaps make a donation to one of the many struggling rape crisis centres in the UK."
Haye, 29, went eye-to-eye with 2000 Olympic gold medallist Harrison, 38, in Vauxhall, South London.
He warned him: "You're going to get violated in that ring." (ANI)
