Karachi, Sept 16 (ANI): In case the Aussies go ahead on India Test-tour despite last week's serial bomb blasts in New Delhi, the PCB will move the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to seek compensation for losses suffered because of cancellation of the home series in March and then the ICC Champions Trophy after Aussies cited "security reasons" in the wake of the preceding bomb blasts killing hundreds of people in Karachi and Lahore.
A PCB official reportedly said that the Board reserved the right to take legal action against teams like Australia, who have "openly displayed double standards" on whether to tour a country or not.
The Australians are supposed to fly out to India on Sunday to play in a Test series to be played later this fall.Australia's tour is under cloud because of the New Delhi bombings that left 20 dead in the Indian capital.
Pakistan will consider suing Cricket Australia if it allowed its cricket team to tour India later this month in spite of a series of bomb blasts in New Delhi last week, reported The News.
PCB sources said that the Board officials were "fully convinced" that the Australians will visit India as planned in spite of the deadly bombings.
According to the paper, the PCB top brass considers the Australians as Pakistan cricket's "enemy number one" and is mulling legal action against them in case they toured India.
The PCB will weigh its options and if advised by the Board's legal experts, may knock at the doors of Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to seek compensation, added the paper.
However, given Australia's track record, it is unlikely that they will displease the Indians by scrapping the tour. "There is simply too much money involved when it comes to India to take any such decision. The top officials in the PCB are sure that Australia will tour India in spite of all the bombings," said the source.
The source referred to the bombings in Jaipur during the inaugural season of the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) earlier this year when several Aussie cricketers decided against leaving the country in spite of safety fears.But Pakistan is a different story.
Pakistan have lost millions of dollars following the postponement of the home series against Australia and the Champions Trophy. More importantly, their players and the fans have been deprived of top class action. In fact, Pakistan - one of the leading Test-playing nations - are yet to play a single Test in 2008 and are now begging for matches against countries like the West Indies and New Zealand. (ANI)
