London, July 1 (ANI): One of the 11 suspects, Christopher Robert Metsos, accused by the United States of spying for Russia has gone missing after being released on bail in Cyprus.

"Metsos, was expected to sign in at a police station in the coastal town of Larnaca but failed to show up," Sky News quoted the Cypriot police, as saying.

Under the terms of his bail, Metsos was told to visit the police station in central Larnaca each day and surrender his travel documents.

The 55 year-old-man was announced as the 11th suspect.

On last Monday, US authorities announced the arrest of 10 "deep-cover" suspects accused of infiltrating policymaking and reporting back to Moscow.

Earlier, the police arrested him on an Interpol "red notice" moments before he was about to board a plane to Budapest from Larnaca airport in Cyprus.

Metsos was wanted in the United States for spying on behalf of Russia and for laundering 32,800 euros. (ANI)
