Osama hunter 'American Rambo' says Qaeda's now put a bounty on his head

New York, Wed, 30 Jun 2010 ANI

New York, June 30 (ANI): The American construction worker who was nabbed in Pakistan's Chitral region while on a solo mission to hunt down and kill Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden earlier this month, has claimed that he is now on top of Qaeda's hit list.

Gary Brooks Faulkner, who was dubbed "Rambo" and the "American Ninja," bragged that Laden has announced a bounty on his head.

"I'm on the top of their list," The New York Post quoted Faulkner, 51, as saying.

"The Pakistanis came to me and said my picture was being distributed by the Taliban and Al Qaeda with a bounty. They want my head," he added while brushing aside most questions put to him citing "security" reasons.

"They want me as bad as I want him. My family has already been instructed where not to go, what not to do, because of safety concerns. The last thing I want to hear is that any of my family members were slaughtered," said the American Ninja who was released by Pakistani authorities because of his deteriorating health.

Faulkner, who suffers from a kidney ailment that requires frequent dialysis, said he planned on dealing with his health issue during his mission to avenge the September 9 2001 terror attack on America by taking advantage of the fact that Laden has the same problem.

"The only thing I knew is that he had one (a dialysis machine) and it's just like a gas station. Unfortunately, I ran out of gas before I reached the gas station," he said.

Faulkner was arrested by Pakistani authorities with night-vision goggles, a pistol, dagger and 40-inch sword, while trying to sneak into Afghanistan's Nuristan province

Since 1981, Faulkner has been arrested at least 10 times on charges ranging from traffic offences to theft and domestic violence, according to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. (ANI)
