Dambulla, June 16 (ANI): Team India beat Bangladesh by six wickets here on Wednesday and registered its first win of the Asia Cup tournament.
Opener Gautam Gambhir smashed 82 of 101 balls, while skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni remained unbeaten on 38, as Team India achieved a modest target of 168 in 30.4 overs.
Earlier, Bangladesh could manage to score a paltry total of 167 and was bowled out in just 34.5 overs.
Imrul Kayes was the top scorer from the Bangladesh side, scoring 37 runs in 35 balls.
After Tamim and Kayes got off to a great start, it seemed Bangladesh would be heading towards a big score. However, Nehra's twin strikes pegged them back a little.
The real damage, however, was done part time bowler Virender Sehwag, as he picked up four wickets in just two overs. (ANI)
