England already ahead in hotel league against World Cup rivals

London, Sun, 25 Apr 2010 ANI

London, Apr 25(ANI): England World Cup players are set to beat their rivals out of sight in South Africa when it comes to costly hotel comfort.

Before their Group C match against Slovenia, the Three Lions stars will relax in luxury for an estimated 1,000 pounds-a-night at their five-star Royal Marang headquarters.

They are followed by the Germans, who will splash out 880 pounds for a top suite at the five-star Velmore Hotel in Centurion.

French stars will not be far behind, they have their base at the Pezula Resort and Spa in Knysa in Eastern Cape, where rooms cost 420 pounds a night.

While Cameroon have pushed the boat out at the five star, 395 pounds-a-night Oyster Box Hotel in Umhlanga, recently voted onto travel magazine Conde Nast's 2010 Hot List.

All the figures might seem like paradise to the Nigerians, who bunk up at a 66 pounds-a-night budget Hampshire Hotel near Durban.

"Some teams have really gone for it when it comes to their hotels. But Nigeria's leaves a lot to be desired," News of The World quoted a World Cup source, as saying. (ANI)
