Kolkata, Sept 6 (ANI): The Left Front has scheduled an emergency meeting in Kolkata on Sunday to discuss the Singur impasse.

The emergency meeting of the Left Front on Singur would be held on Sunday morning.

Talks between the West Bengal Government and the Trinamool Congress-led Krishijami Jiban-o-Jibika Raksha Committee, presided over by Governor Gopalkrishna Gandhi over the crucial issue of returning land to unwilling farmers in Singur has fuelled speculation of a possible solution to the problem.

West Bengal's Industry Minister Nirupam Sen and Partha Chatterjee, a key negotiator belonging to Trinamool Congress, had stated that they were hopeful of a solution.

If both parties reached on a solution during the talks, the government would get it ratified at the Left Front meeting on Sunday.

Mamata Banerjee led TMC are protesting at Singur over the return of 400 acres of land to unwilling farmers, whose land has been given to Ratan Tata's "Nano" project. (ANI)
