A day before X-mas, Britons to splurge almost #1m per minute
London, December 24 (ANI): A day before Christmas, researchers expect Britons to splurge almost 1 million pounds a minute.
Seemingly, 13.3 million people may shop themselves in order to avoid arctic conditions, which may delay the presents for their loved ones from being delivered on time.
Also, shoppers will stock up on last minute presents, food and drink before the four-day holiday season begins.
It is speculated that 18 per cent of late spending, amounting to about 246 million, may occur through credit cards as people delay bills till the new year.
"Once again there looks set to be a stampede of shoppers on Christmas eve as many people leave their shopping to the last minute before Christmas," the Daily Express quoted Stuart McKeggie, head of credit cards at Sainsbury's, as saying.(ANI)
