London, Sep 11 (ANI): England boss Fabio Capello is not only happy with his team's performance, but the one million pounds incentive from Football Association has also brought cheers on the coach's face.
Capello, who is already on six million pound-a-year, got a one million pound bonus by qualifying for the World Cup. And the Italian will bag another one million pounds if England wins the World Cup.
FA chiefs agreed to build the incentives into Capello's deal when he signed his four-and-half year contract in January 2008. And they are more than happy to sign the cheque now that their investment is paying off.
England's stars will also cash in on qualifying for next summer's finals, The Sun reports.
Although players donated their 1,500 pounds match fee to charity, they also share in the players' pool, which pays out bonuses depending on how many qualifiers they play in.
Frank Lampard, David Beckham and Wayne Rooney have featured in all eight qualifiers and stand to get the Three Lions-share of the spoils, estimated at 250,000-300,000 pounds a man.
The England players' committee will meet with the FA to work out a new bonus system based on success in South Africa.
Like Capello, they could earn one million pounds each for lifting the trophy. The FA is also likely to pocket a huge World Cup cash bonus. (ANI)
