Kathmandu, Sep.6 (ANI): A Special Committee has been tasked with the responsibility of supervising, integrating and rehabilitating Maoist combatants and to bring them under its command.
Its technical committee has been told to prepare a report on how this can be done.
Nepal News quoted Special Committee member Dr Ram Saran Mahat as saying after a meeting of the committee at PMO in Sindha Durbar that the technical committee has been asked to submit report on the supervision of the Maoist People's Liberation Army under the Special Committee.
The technical committee has also been asked to chalk out the code of conduct for the Maoist combatants. Technical committee members were also present at the meeting.
According to Special Committee member J.P Gupta, the Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction has been asked to resume the process of discharging of the disqualified combatants numbering 4802.
The nine-member Special Committee headed by Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal was reconstituted recently. It has two members from Unified CPN-Maoist, Nepali Congress and CPN-UML each while Madhesi Janadhikar Forum, Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Democratic) and Terai Madhesh Loktantrik Party have one member each.(ANI)
