Jaipur, May 5 (ANI): As many as 22 couples tied the nuptial knot in a mass marriage ceremony, organised to spread the message of cutting down expenditure on ceremonies, in Rajasthan. The ceremony was organised as part of the auspicious month that started after a Hindu festival, 'Akshay Tritya', on April 21. The period after the festival is considered auspicious for weddings, new business ventures, house warming ceremonies and the purchase of gold ornaments and household goods. The mass marriage, organised by the Rajput community, aimed to reduce unnecessary expenditure in organising wedding ceremonies. This was the first time that a mass marriage ceremony of the Rajput community was organised in Rajasthan's capital city Jaipur.
