Struggling for survival, rescued Indian nurses from Yemen demand compensation from govt

Coimbatore, May 26 (ANI): A group of nurses from Coimbatore city is struggling for survival after being rescued from Yemen two months ago. Their problems have been complicated further as the hospitals in Yemen where they were working as nurses have not returned them key documents. Rescued by Indian government in March after the civil war broke out in Yemen, the nurses were brought back to their native places in India. With no employment back home, the nurses are demanding compensation from the government. A group of the nurses went to Coimbatore District Collectorate to seek help from the government. Anitha, a nurse who came back from Yemen, has applied for financial assistance from the government. The nurses, most of whom hail from poor families, staring at bleak future with no employment back home. Another nurse, Shiny who went to Yemen two years ago and was rescued, said she was finding it difficult to make both ends meet.
