Shani Shingnapur incident reflects nation’s patriarchal mentality: Women leaders
New Delhi, Feb 06 (ANI): Former National Commission for Women (NCW) member and women activist Shamina Shafiq on Saturday said the restriction on the entry of women into the sanctum sanctorum of Shani Shingnapur temple in Maharashtra’s Ahmednagar district reflects the patriarchal mindset of people. Resonating similar sentiments, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shazia Ilmi said private trusts administering religious places and the Indian Government should come to a common solution with regard to the same.
