Restoration work on as Srinagar recovers from floods
Srinagar, March 29 (ANI): Government of Jammu and Kashmir has begun restoring infrastructure in capital Srinagar, which was damaged in the floods last year. Roads in Srinagar were transformed into stagnant canals strewn with wreckage, trash and dead animals after massive floods hit in September, last year. Work is on to restore major roads connecting outskirts of Srinagar city with many villages. A concrete bund is being made near the river Jhelum in Budgam district in order to avoid future erosion. Residents expressed hope of travelling safely once the roads were constructed.
