Religious leaders hail SC's verdict on Asaram Bapu case
New Delhi, Apr 25 (ANI): Religious leaders from all across the country have hailed the Supreme Court's verdict on self-styled godman Asaram Bapu's rape case. Religious Leader Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati said, "It is people's biggest fault that they choose their Guru without knowing him. He has not taken sanyas, he is a grihast (householder) then what was the need that he was made a Guru." Jain Monk Vivek Muni said, "The SC verdict is right. The culprits be in any form should be punished and if they are spiritual leaders who's responsibility increases toward society deserved to be punished severely." Self-styled godman Asaram Bapu was sentenced to life imprisonment in a 2013 rape case by Jodhpur Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Court on Wednesday.
