Raksha Bandhan celebrated with fervour all over country
New Delhi/Patna, Aug 02 (ANI): Raksha Bandhan, a very special occasion to celebrate the bond of love between a brother and sister is celebrated today with great fervour. The festival symbolises trust between sisters and brothers, with a sister tying Rakhi, a sacred thread on the wrist of her brother as a token of love and praying for his lifelong well being, who in turn vows to help and protect her. President, Pranab Mukherjee, celebrated Raksha Bandhan, with school students and specially abled children in New Delhi. Children of various schools came to greet Mukherjee and his daughter Sharmistha Mukherjee at their official residence in New Delhi. They tied rakhis on the wrist of Mukherjee. Simultaneously, Congress chief, Sonia Gandhi celebrated Raksha Bandhan with school children, specially abled children and members of various voluntary organisations.
