Political Leaders say former PM Vajpayee deserves Bharat Ratna
New Delhi, March 26 (ANI): Politicians on Thursday said that former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee deserved country's highest civilian award, the Bharat Ratna. Vajpayee will be presented Bharat Ratna by President Pranab Mukherjee on Friday at his residence. Normally, recipients come to the President's House to receive the award, but an exception was made in Vajpayee's case owing to his health. The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last December. JD (U) general secretary KC Tyagi said it was a matter of pride for the nation. Congress also welcomed the decision. Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said both Vajpayee and Malaviya had contributed immensely for nation building.
