PM Modi inaugurates “Urja Sangam 2015”, calls on India to be self sufficient in energy sector Part -
New Delhi, March 27 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated “Urja Sangam 2015”, an international energy-focused summit at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi. The event marked the celebration of 50 years of operations of ONGC Videsh, the overseas arm of explorer ONGC, Engineers India Ltd (EIL) and the Barauni Refinery of largest refiner Indian Oil Corp (IOC). While speaking at the event, Modi called on India to be self sufficient in energy sector. He said that for a country to develop, need is that institutional mechanism of the country be strong. Further, he also said that 2022, which will mark 75 years of India's independence, India should reach a height by then which justifies the sacrifices made by freedom fighters.
