Online portal offering job opportunities to transgender goes live in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, April 18 (ANI): In an attempt to give chance to the members of transgender community to work with other sections of the society, an online portal offering jobs to the minority community was launched in Bengaluru. The portal 1008jobs.com is first even in India to provide such opportunities to transgender community. The portal will also appoint transgender staff members in each city to help job seekers from their community. This portal will offer these sexual minorities a wide range of employment opportunities rather than doing odd jobs to earn a living. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the portal, K Prashanth, said that they were doing this to bring transgender into the mainstream. The portal is not just exclusive to transgender but is open to for everyone seeking employment. It also gives importance to part-time job seekers and students looking for earning while studying. Meanwhile, a transgender activist, Akkai Padmashali, said that there was no online portal that lists jobs for transgender.
